New York Times Reports on Making City Streets Safer

A recent New York Times article highlights the need for having a master plan for a city that promotes walkability, bikeability, and pedestrian safety. The article quotes James Sallis, co-author of “Making Health Places” from San Diego State University, “People are more likely to choose to walk for transportation and for recreation when there is good pedestrian infrastructure.” A master plan will also promote physical activity and health for all residents of the city.
